Extracted from the unripe, green fruit of the Citrus reticulata, or Mandarin, tree through cold expression, green mandarin essential oil has a fresh, zesty, and slightly tangy aroma when compared with its ripe counterpart, Red Mandarin.

Originating from China, the fruit is now widely grown across the Mediterranean, where it is harvested between late September and early October for green fruit.
