Our candles are certified organic by the Soil Association, the UK’s leading organic certifier. This ensures sustainability, traceability, and ethical production through rigorous testing cross the entire supply chain.
The Soil Association logo is the most widely recognised organic symbol in the UK and has become synonymous with the best in organic standards and a hallmark of quality and trust.
The circular economy is guided by seven principles: redesign, reduce, reuse, repair, renovate, recycle, and recover. To support this mindset and eliminate packaging waste and single-use products, we offer discounted candle refills that fit seamlessly into your existing Babel container, saving you money and removing the need to buy a new container each time.
We prioritise using recycled materials for our products and packaging. Where this is not possible, we ensure materials are fully recyclable. This commitment ensures a Babel package generates zero waste to landfill.
All cardboard, wood wicks and paper comes from Forest Stewardship Council-certified sources, while the refill wrap and mailer boxes are carbon neutral. The product wallets are made from Notpla seaweed paper, which uses a by-product from the seaweed harvesting industry, and the candle containers are made from endlessly recyclable, lightweight, durable stainless steel.
We believe it is important to fully understand the origins and manufacturing conditions of our materials, which have come from all over the world. As a result, you can explore detailed information about each ingredient in your candle on our ingredients page. We also donate a portion of our profits to charitable organisations doing important work in areas highlighted by each of our candles' origins, which you can find out more about below.
